NFactory School: Outsourced Private Cloud for Web Development Students

To allow students in Web development to familiarize themselves with the administration of a Private Cloud intended to host Web services, Aqua Ray has provided the NFactory School with an outsourced Private Cloud. The students were therefore able to practice administering a technical platform with the XCP-ng virtualization tool.

The proposed tool (Xen Orchestra) was very easy to use. The creation of VMs - with restricted access by SSH key and IP addresses - was also simple once the process was understood.

Concerning the machines themselves, they met the expectations of the project: 3 VMs per group - i.e. a total of 12 VMs - to be installed on each group of 3 VMs :

The configuration of the proxy and the firewall made it possible to make the thing more secure and to discuss with the students some very interesting notions such as port forwarding, firewalls and especially the notions of minimum security in order to have a protected network.

Finally, it should be noted that it only took a few days to set up everything with Aqua Ray (3 days of waiting to have full access to the service) and a quality follow-up, the team was able to answer some questions along the way, this greatly facilitated my task. »
