The use of the ENT infrastructure

The region is committed in favor of open-source environments, thus developing since 2009 a unified solution named Net0'Centre or Touraine-eSchool depending on the access areas. This service has to be accessible 24/7 and is based entirely on a infrastructure deployed and managed by Aqua Ray.

The GIP RECIA ENT has currently more than 2,5 millions of connexions per month with more than 120 000 separate users, with an annual increase of more than 40%.

The solution developed
To address this need, Aqua Ray integrated for GIP RECIA a Private Cloud based on custom configurations of physical machines : SuperMicro chassis with Intel Xeon E5-2618LV3 processors and local storage systems SSD Toshiba in RAID 6 on each Dom0.

The virtualization solution maintained by Aqua Ray is Xen Server. It is associated with the XenOrchestra Management service to allow the GIP RECIA to remotely manage all virtual machine.

The services deployed on the virtual resources of this Private Cloud are: HAProxy, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, OpenLDAP, Apache, Tomcat, and Postfix are all deployed with redundancy on Linux Debian systems. They are managed by Aqua Ray in order to be able to contractually guarantee GRT levels that the GIP RECIA can fluctuate depending on the period and with a minimum of 2h, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
